A
native of California, I have been painting the California landscape for
35-years and perhaps best known for painting in the medium
of watercolors. Settling on the Monterey Peninsula some 20-years ago my paintings
have been exhibited in fine arts galleries in Carmel, Monterey Pacific Grove
and solo exhibitions including the Pacific Grove Art Center.
Five years ago, following monotype classes with Robyn Smith, and studies
with Paul Roehl at Monterey Peninsula College, I grew increasingly passionate
for the print medium. The building of my prints, often combining monotype with
intaglio, woodblock, or chene collé, this hands-on technical precision continues
to surprise and inform my evolution as an artist.Working with my own printing
press in my Cannery Row studio I divide my time between painting and printing.
I paint with oils, pastels, acrylic and watercolors.
My professional affiliations in northern California include the Society
of Western Artists, the East Bay Watercolor Society and San Francisco
Women Artists. I remain an active member of the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation,
the Santa Cruz Art League, and Artists Equity.
My paintings have been exhibited in numerous prestigious invitational
and juried shows including San Francisco’s Kaiser Mensinine Gallery,
Crown C. Zellerbach Building, Hall of Flowers, Golden Gate Park, Olive Hyde
Gallery,
Fremont,CA, as well as Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, Santa Cruz
Art League, Pacific Grove Art Center, and the annual Monterey County Artists
Studio Tour.
